Bakers are proud Associate Sponsors of the Penrith Panthers Rugby League Team. The last 12 months has seen plenty of changes at club with last year’s Grand Finalist Coach Ivan Cleary becoming Head Coach and Phil Gould becoming the General Manager of the Football Club.

“Since my return to the foot of the mountains, I have been overwhelmed by the strong passion and belief shown by the Panthers Members and every member should feel proud of the brotherhood we have here in Rugby Leagues heartland - Western Sydney.

Fuelled by the dedication of the Panthers members I am confident that 2012 will be a year that no Panthers supporter should miss.” Says Gould.

In 2012 the club will once again lead the charge to support the Women In League Round as they play the game in their un-mistakable ‘Pink’ Panthers jerseys. The club has also renewed their focus on developing new talent in the Junior Rugby League in Western Sydney, and with both Phil Gould and Ivan Cleary taking the lead with this we are sure to see some exciting juniors join the team in the coming years. Since his impressive Test debut at the Gabba in November 2007 – the left-handed speedster now boasts an impressive record against a host of nations with close to 200 Test, as well as a bundle of One-Day- International wickets.

Perhaps most spectacularly, with an 8 wicket haul in one innings against South Africa in the summer of 08/09 – leading to a nod as the Player of the Series vs. South Africa 2008-09 and at the coveted LG ICC Awards as the 2009 ICC Cricketer of the Year. Fuelling fans excitement you can expect some fireworks with the bat as well – as Mitch displays his class as a genuine all rounder, already with an undefeated test century under his belt.

Amongst his international accolades Mitchell is also proud to have been our Bakers Brand Ambassador since 2006, “I am really pleased to be invited to continue my association with Bakers” says Mitch. “I have met many customers and team members over the years - I can even tell them I have a great JBS Tool kit at home! I look forward to visiting more customers soon.”

Dragster Racing Champion

JBS is the major sponsor of the Newby Top Alcohol Dragster Race Team. Affectionately known within drag racing circles as “The JBS Jet” this car and team have blown away all comers over the last few seasons. The team have a history of success, taking out the 2001-2002, 2006-2007 and 2010-2011 ANDRA Top Alcohol Championships! Wayne (The Pilot) is also the current holder of the Australian Speed Record of 257.73mph (414.77 km/h) over the quarter mile.

JBS and Newby’s have had a close association over six years now, with JBS supplying much of their workshop and pit crew needs during this time. Wayne and the crew proudly endorse the JBS brand of tools and while normally being a test pilot for new high tech automotive components and engines, he is considered our number one test pilot for JBS tools.
