The Fred Hollows Foundation And Prosafe Reach Huge Milestone

In July of last year, Blackwoods announced the re-launch of the partnership with The Fred Hollows Foundation, with an increased focus on working to improve the general health and sight of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Between 2008 and 2016 Blackwoods raised $500,000 for The Fred Hollows Foundation. With the re-launch of the program an ambitous target was set of $500,000 in just 12 months.

The target was met and then exceeded, with Blackwoods presenting Gaby Hollows a cheque for over $600,000.

To reach this goal, Blackwoods donates 10% of all sales of Prosafe branded eye and face protection products and related accessories which directly contribute to the Foundation’s Indigenous Australia Program.

94% of vision loss for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults is preventable or treatable.  However, when 35% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults have never had an eye exam, there’s still a lot of work to do.

The Indigenous Australia Program supports increased investment in and access to culturally appropriate eye care services to remote and underserved Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

To support the The Fred Hollows Indigenous Australia Program, simply purchase any Prosafe eyewear, face shields and related accessories from Blackwoods.
